About
The Department of Physics was opened in 2007-2008 academic year. Currently, it continues its education at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels. As the Department of Physics, our aim is to develop the potential of students, to direct them to scientific research and development, to provide them with a strong equipment, to adopt universal values, to educate highly qualified and ambitious students who are open to competition on every platform. As physicists, we believe that the learning and research of scientific knowledge derives both its own value and its intellectual fulfillment.

Our undergraduate program has a rich structure that includes basic theoretical courses as well as practical courses such as electronics and computer programming. Especially in recent years, "Computational Physics", one of the most intensive areas of contemporary science, has found its rightful place in our curriculum and our students have been provided with advanced scientific simulation skills. Graduates of the program will be able to work as research and development scientists in the research and development laboratories of factories and medium-sized industrial enterprises, as well as being employed as research assistants in universities. There is also a serious career potential for our graduates in the field of health physics. Graduates of the physics department are needed more than ever in health services, especially in areas such as nuclear medicine, medical physics and biophysics.

During their education, our students can also gain the qualification to teach by taking formation courses. In addition, our students who graduate with problem solving and analytical thinking skills have the potential to find jobs in many technical fields such as computer hardware and software.

In our graduate programs, master's and doctoral studies are carried out in fields such as "Nuclear Physics", "Materials Physics", "Condensed Matter Physics" and "Radiation Physics" under the supervision of our expert faculty members. The studies carried out by our students with their advisors in our department are published in prestigious international journals, thus contributing to the development of both our country and world science.
