The 10th National Inorganic Chemistry Congress, hosted by the Department of Chemistry of our Faculty, was successfully held at our university between June 17–20, 2025. The congress, which attracted intense interest from academics, researchers, and graduate students from all around Turkey and the world, served as an important platform to share current scientific studies in the field of inorganic chemistry and to foster scientific collaborations.
The opening ceremony of the congress took place at our university’s 15 July Martyrs Conference Hall. The ceremony was attended by our Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hasan Solmaz and Prof. Dr. İsmail Rakıp Karaş, Dean of our Faculty Prof. Dr. Gökhan Gökoğlu, Head of the Department of Chemistry and Congress Chair Prof. Dr. Şaban Uysal, President of the Turkish Chemical Society Prof. Dr. Bahattin Yalçın, along with faculty members, researchers, and students from various universities. The opening speeches emphasized the importance of scientific production and interdisciplinary collaborations; the role of inorganic chemistry in both fundamental sciences and applied fields such as materials science, environment, and energy was also highlighted.
During the congress, which lasted for three days, a total of 61 oral presentations, 181 poster presentations, and 11 invited talks were delivered. The presentations covered a wide range of subfields such as Coordination Chemistry and Metal Complexes, Catalysis and Photocatalysis, Development of Functional Materials and Nanomaterials, Energy and Environmental Applications, Biosensors and Biomedical Applications, Theoretical and Computational Chemistry, Analytical Methods, and Materials and Structural Chemistry, offering participants a rich and diverse scientific program. One of the most notable aspects of the congress was the active participation of young researchers and the opportunity they had to present their work.
As part of the congress, “Best Poster Presentation” awards were also presented to encourage young scientists. These awards served as an important motivation for young academics to pursue original and high-quality work. In addition to the scientific sessions, social events organized throughout the congress enabled participants to exchange ideas and strengthen academic ties. Moreover, the historical and cultural values of our university and city were also introduced to the participants.
We believe that the 10th National Inorganic Chemistry Congress, successfully organized through the dedicated efforts and meticulous work of our Department of Chemistry, will shed light on future studies in the field and foster new scientific collaborations. We thank all academic and administrative staff involved in the organization of the congress, the supporting institutions and organizations, and all participants whose valuable contributions enriched the congress.
