History and Introduction of the Faculty
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Karabük University was established on December 12, 2005, with the Decision of the Council of Ministers as a part of Zonguldak Karaelmas University. It began its activities on December 18, 2005. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences, originally established under Zonguldak Karaelmas University, was transferred to Karabük University on May 29, 2007. With the Decision of the Council of Ministers dated July 28, 2010, the name of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences was changed to the Faculty of Science.
The Faculty started its educational services in the 2007-2008 academic year by admitting 30 students each in the Physics and Chemistry departments. In the 2010-2011 academic year, the Mathematics Department was also added, continuing education and training in three departments.
The Faculty has 29 academic and 7 administrative staff members, with a total of 470 undergraduate students, 97 of whom are international students. In our graduate programs, there are 141 master's degree students, 59 of whom are international, and 27 doctoral students, 11 of whom are international. The faculty members also offer various courses in other departments of the university.
