Natural sciences aim to understand nature based on objective and measurable phenomena through experiments and observations. Scientific knowledge, derived from the synthesis of reason and observation, is consistent, objective, and open to critique. Since the early 20th century, the fields of science and mathematics have shaped our lives and the world, influencing technology and engineering on scales ranging from nano to macro.
